Food for Thought Urban Farm

Wyoming Food for Thought Project is working to create a community where everyone has access to local, healthy food, and with the variety of different garden types we provide throughout Casper, this vision will someday become a reality. From our Food is Free gardens, to rentable plots, demonstration gardens, the high tunnel for year-round production, and more, our goal is to revive a sense of self-sustainability throughout the community, by educating on the benefits of buying and producing seasonally local and organic food.

For more information on the different resources, programs and services we provide through our Urban Farm, click the links below.

SNAP Token System

The Food for Thought Markets offer a SNAP Token System to SNAP users, to encourage the purchase of local, healthy items. This is a win-win for everyone, in that, healthier alternatives become available to those in need, while strengthening our local economy, and increasing the customer base of our local vendors and business owners.

SNAP users simply visit the Food for Thought Info Booth, run their card in exchange for tokens, and use them on approved purchases with the market vendors.

Food for Thought Markets

The Food for Thought Markets are dedicated to creating a more equitable local food system, in response to the demand for local growers and producers. We encourage everyone to participate in at least one of our markets, and welcome all vendors who only sell products they themselves have grown or processed.

We provide a variety of market types, different ways you can get involved, and a handful of programs and resources that can be found at our year-round markets. Check out the links below for more information.
