Internship Opportunities

Hey You!!


Looking for an opportunity to have fun while making a difference right here in your community? Wyoming Food for Thought Project is looking for dedicated individuals who are interested in our summer internship positions. There are three separate positions, with each free position offering leadership roles, as well as on-the-job training with a possibility of earning college credit.


INTERN POSITIONS:


Farmers Market Intern: With a goal of addressing the issue of Childhood Hunger in Natrona County, Wyoming Food for Thought Project manages the local Food for Thought Markets, both in the summer as well as a winter market.

This internship would include the duties of: coordinating vendor registrations, developing vendor recruitment strategies, pursuing and coordinating business sponsorships, managing the weekly, evening summer markets, in addition to managing youth volunteers, ensuring a Chef of the Market each week, and maintaining the Food for Thought Information Booth.



Garden Intern: Addressing hunger includes access to fresh produce, and a great source is locally grown vegetables and fruits. To address this need, Food for Thought is building community gardens that will aid in the education of growing of fresh produce, and can result in the donation of food grown in those gardens.

This internship would include the duties of: coordinating volunteers, working with school and youth groups to participate in garden services and garden expansion, coordinating harvests as the bounty ripens, coordinating the transfer of community garden produce to the Farmers Markets, and coordinating food preservation workshops.




General Non-profit Intern: All non-profits have multiple tasks connected to the services they provide. From advocating, working with business sponsors, and various office tasks, to working in the kitchen and sourcing food. You will never do the same task two days in a row!


This internship would include duties of: working to promote the Food for Thought Food Bag Program, coordinating food donations, sourcing, inventory and food drives, helping with the solicitation of sponsors and promoting the importance of the “Power of One Campaign.”
