March Item of the Month

Wyoming Food for Thought Project provides a year-round weekend food bag program to food insecure children throughout Natrona County. This includes the average two-day weekends, as well as extended holiday breaks such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring break.

During the 2017-2018 school year, we were feeding 700 children throughout Natrona County each and every weekend, totaling 236,388 meals!

That is why we are promoting a monthly suggested food item to collect, to help with acquiring more bulk amounts of essential items we need. We do, however, accept and greatly appreciate any and all donations that come through the door, and can assure you that your donation will be used locally.

This year, we have partnered with our friends at Cent$ible Nutrition to increase the nutrition of the food that we're putting in our food bags. March's Item of the Month is Macaroni and Cheese! Cent$ible Nutrition suggests donating items with whole wheat and low sodium for a healthier food option.
