Casper Mountain Gin Project
Wyoming Food for Thought Project and Backwards Distilling Company proudly present: The Casper Mountain Gin Project, a collaboration to bottle up the flavor of our mountain to create a gin unlike any other!
Combining local efforts in 2016, the two groups partnered when Backwards Distilling Co. was looking to source local herbs and garnishes for their cocktails. Since then, this partnership has steadily continued to grow and prosper, to the point where we cultivated the idea of bringing this limited edition gin to you, from mountain to bottle.
We foraged high and low for the highest-quality products we could find, and let us be the first to tell you that beautiful Casper Mountain delivered! From juniper berries to rose hips, currants and licorice root, this gin is guaranteed to remind you of the 307 we love and call home.
By now, you’re probably wondering how this project could get any better. Well, it can, and we’re here to tell you how below.
We invite you to support local and show some love for the Casper Mountain Gin Project. On with the show!

Backwards Distilling Company
Backwards Distilling Company was born of an appreciation for fine spirits and a propensity for the unusual. The founders of Backwards have always sought those aspects of the world that are unique, have a little bit of quirk, and fall outside the norm. In that spirit, the Pollock family imagined a company that would reflect and celebrate these traits. The spirits Backwards Distilling Company creates are crafted grain to bottle using locally and regionally sourced ingredients in their Wyoming distillery, giving them plenty of personality.

Label Contest
To continue the trend of local in this project, we hosted a label competition! Local artists were encouraged to create a label for the Casper Mountain Gin, which was presented via social media for public vote. The top five winners had their labels made into stickers and large prints that will hang at Wyoming Food for Thought Project’s Good Food Hub. The winner was Breanna Mckenna, who will have her label displayed on these limited edition bottles, but has earned herself some serious bragging rights!
