Support our Weekend Food Bag Program

School is quickly approaching, and with that (for some kids), the comfort of falling back into the school's hunger safety net. So, what does that mean exactly? Well, that means that kids are guaranteed at least 1-2 meals a day for every day they attend school - meals they might have gone without while away from school during the summer.

That's where we come in.

With our free and confidential weekend food bag program, kids can fill the food gap at home, and not have to worry about "getting by" until breakfast on Monday morning at school.

The bags we provide include kid-friendly breakfast, lunch, dinner and various snack items for each day the children are away from school. This includes the average two-day weekend, as well as the extended holiday breaks such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Breaks. The cost of our bags is $2.50 per day, but when we serve over 700 children each weekend, the cost can skyrocket.

That's why we need YOU.

Wyoming Food for Thought Project is a local and grassroots organization that is able to provide this program because of our community and people like you. What does that look like? That's making recurring monetary donations, dropping a canned good donation off at one of our drop site locations, hosting a food drive or volunteering to help pack and deliver the food bags.

If you would like to make a contribution to our efforts, consider making an online donation. We have made a goal to raise $20,000 to kick off the school year right for the children in need right here in Casper. For additional ways to get involved, please also consider browsing our website.

Kids shouldn't have to worry about where their next meal will come from - Let them be kids.
